Summer Arts Camp at Arts Etobicoke in Brief
Monday July 13 to Friday July 17, 2015
The Kreativ U-Turn (KUT) team at Arts Etobicoke is excited to offer its campers programming dedicated to the creative process and expanding the imagination. Claudia, Tijana and Ksenia, along with KUT mentor Nancy Newton, will facilitate the program in the gallery space of Arts Etobicoke and surrounding community of the Islington Village.
The first two days of camp will introduce campers to the Exploring Creativity in Depth™ program. They will create pastel drawings, witness a Show n’ Tell by emerging artists and discuss their work while offering insight and inspiration for opening creative abilities.
Campers will be led on a Mural Tour and become acquainted with historic stories of the Islington area. They will then focus on learning about themselves through several listening and sharing activities to create a self portrait.
On the final 2 days of camp, campers will participate in a nature solo on Montgomery Inn grounds where they will then be led through an outdoor sculpture making session. Using their sculptures, campers will explore movement and theatre as they create a group story and performance.
At the end of each day, campers will contribute to a Visual Journal through images and words. The Arts Etobicoke team is looking forward to sharing their love of art-making and creative exploration with campers. Visit our Events page to read about camp activity.
